4 months!

Today we went to the pediatrician for Elle's 4 month check up.
She is officially 13 pounds 7 ounces and 24-3/4" long. That puts her in the 63% for weight, 85% for height and 65% for head circumference. While we were waiting for her shots, we met another 4 month old boy. He started at 6 pounds and now weighs 16 pounds!! It feels like Elle eats all the time, I can't imagine what his mother feels like!

Developmentally, the doctor is really happy with everything Elle is doing. So, even with a very pouty lip after her shots, I think it was a good day!

"If it's not in my mouth, it doesn't exist" - that includes her feet!

This is the closest I have been able to get to having a picture of Elle and Butch together. So far, they just ignore each other. I have a feeling that will change when she starts crawling or throwing food on the floor!!

Oh, how things change!

A few days ago, I was reflecting on the changes in my life in the last few months.

Six months ago, I didn't have any of these things:
A bowl full of pacifiers on my counter...
A bowl full of teething rings in my refrigerator...
A basket full of diapers on my bathroom counter...
A super sweet munchkin to brighten my day!

Elle's 3-month photos are here!!!! (Yes, I realize she turns 4 months tomorrow!)

Thanks for the beautiful quilt Great Aunt Fay!

Thanks for the super cool puzzle Jenni!

Back to Work

I started back to work last Tuesday. Elle is doing pretty well with her nanny. And work is work. I am having a hard time focusing. I would much rather be playing with Elle or looking at articles on Babycenter.com. Hopefully, that is normal and I will get my head back into things relatively soon!

Regardless of my interest...I was thrown back into the deep end. So, that meant that I had a committee meeting to attend. No rest for the weary, right? After being in the office only two days, we were off to Portland, Maine for the weekend. Thank goodness Elle is a good traveller!

While I was working, I had a local college student come by to watch Elle. She took this picture of Elle 'helping' with her diaper change!

After I finished up with the work on Saturday, we went for a walk with several of my committee members. Elle stayed awake for the entire walk! Here we are with the skyline behind us.

On a side note, Elle has the funniest hair I have ever seen. It is blonde on top and had a brown ring around the back. I have noticed that the brown is starting to fall out so it is now just a brown 'patch'. I am glad I got a picture of it before it is all gone!!

Labor Day weekend

We were home for Labor Day. If I had been a bit more timely in my post, you would know that this is Elle saying,
"Happy Labor Day!"

The week before the long weekend, I thought Elle seemed to be bored a lot (is that possible?). So, I decided she needed an activity center to play with. Thank goodness for Craigslist!
I think she likes it!!

Poor Butch...why does she get all the good toys??

Elle's Newest Skill

Last weekend Averelle and I went to San Diego to visit with Clay for a few days. I forgot to take any pictures...so no update about that! But, while we were there, Elle managed to roll over a few times in her sleep and manage to scare herself awake by doing so!

Yesterday, we were playing and she decided to try this new skill out while awake. She did it several times in a row and I was able to catch her in action! No comments on my video quality...I had never even tried the video camera on my blackberry until this happened!

Today, we were playing again and she seems to have figured out a system for it now. A bit more graceful than yesterday!
