We started Easter a little early this year. Last weekend, Elle and I went home to Ohio for a family weekend. While we were there, the family got together for an early Easter celebration. My mom and I decided to surprise the rest of the family with an old tradition.
When I was a kid, my Grandma made either a lamb or bunny cake every Easter covered in coconut. No one ever ate it.
Here is mom's first try on Friday night...we tried again on Saturday morning. Luckily no sink hole showed up in #2!
Elle with her Grandma and the finished bunny!!
According to my mom, it was a lot of work and she really appreciated what Grandma use to do every year!
Luckily, we actually ate it! This is what was left. My nephew Connor thought it was funny to put the bunny out of its misery!
Elle had a good time playing with the purple inflated Easter bunny. That is a toy from one of my first Easters. We were pretty impressed it still holds air!
My niece Mikayla - we shared a few peeps!
My nephew Connor being a goofball.
The 'real' Easter. Elle made quite the haul. Thanks Gram and Grandpa Brown for the personalized Easter bunnies!
Yes, that is a stuffed lobster in her Easter basket. Elle has her own 'Chichester' now (sorry, a very inside joke that will be appreciated by about 4 people!).
Elle recently figured out how to drink from a straw. She kept trying to suck the bunny ears on this cup though!
We went to my friend Rachel's house for dinner today. She planned a great egg hunt for the kids. Elle was the only girl so she got all the pink eggs. Isn't she cute?
She figured out how to find them and pick them up...it was a bit more challenging to get them into her basket.
Elle loves Rachel's dogs. She loved on them all day long! Trouble is on the left and Zoey (the mama) is on the right.
The Easter cutie...with her basket.
Hope you had a fun Easter too!!
